Other Frequently Asked Questions
What sort of people sing with Voiceworks?
People just like you. Some are a bit older and some are a bit younger, some sing higher and some sing lower but we all have one thing in common- we love to sing!

I’m not sure if I’m a Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass?
Our professional Musical Director will help you to find the best range for your voice.

I can’t read music – will that be a problem?
Not a problem at all. Some of our members read music and some don’t. We provide a variety of techniques, teaching methods and learning supports which help our members to easily learn their music.
These include access to digital recordings, lyrics and sheet music. We also arrange extra rehearsals in the run up to performances if needed.

What kind of music does Voiceworks sing?
We sing everything from Bach to the Beatles. It’s an eclectic mix with something for everybody.

I’ve had quite a lot of singing experience and I like a challenge. Does Voiceworks cater for people at my level?
Yes we do. Voiceworks has a number of professional performers who periodically sing in our ensemble, our professional team commission new works and provide specially written arrangements to cater for the wide range of talents within the ensemble and we also provide opportunities for soloists and small ensembles at all of our performances.

Does Voiceworks do public performances?
Yes we do. Singing in a choir is really good fun when you perform. Our ensemble performs at the end of each term. Terms 1 & 3 are concluded with Workshop Performances and at the end of Terms 2 & 4 we perform public shows. It’s great fun!
